Nondestructive testing

Nondestructive testing or non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and technology industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. The terms nondestructive examination (NDE), nondestructive inspection (NDI), and nondestructive evaluation (NDE) are also commonly used to describe this technology. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research.

Accu-Test Labs is staffed with two ASNT ACCP certified Level III’s as well as several ASNT ACCP certified Level II’s to meet industry requirements. They are available for in-house inspection as well as field services.

Magnetic Permeability is used to determine the susceptibility of material to be magnetized. This is related to the iron content and can be measured with a FERROMASTER which is a compact, hand-held instrument made for easy measurement of relative magnetic permeability of materials and workpieces with µr between 1.001 and 1.999. The relative permeability is measured by touching the workpiece with the sensor tip and reading the result on the LCD display.
